O Portimonense conquistou o máximo de pontos na vitória por 1-0 sobre o Famalicão em casa. Pedrão marcou o gol da vitória aos 65 minutos.

A vitória ajudou a equipa algarvia a continuar o seu impressionante início de temporada. Atualmente, eles estão em quarto lugar e têm 12 pontos para mostrar por seus esforços em cinco partidas.

Entretanto, o Portimonense encontrou uma forma de continuar a apurar os resultados na nova campanha, ao garantir a segunda vitória consecutiva por 1-0 ao defrontar o Famalicão na passada segunda-feira.

Tendo iniciado a temporada com uma derrota por 1 a 0 para o Boavista, os homens de Paulo Sergio agora venceram cada um dos quatro jogos subsequentes – sua maior sequência conjunta de vitórias consecutivas desde janeiro de 2021, quando também conquistou quatro vitórias consecutivas.

A equipe de Portimão atualmente ocupa a quarta posição na classificação da Primeira Liga, empatada com 12 pontos com o atual campeão Porto e três pontos atrás do líder da liga Benfica, que continua sendo o único time que ainda não perdeu pontos nesta temporada.

Enquanto o Portimonense tentará manter o rolo compressor e fortalecer sua posição nos escalões superiores da tabela, sua próxima tarefa será enfrentar um time desenfreado do Sporting que venceu cada um dos últimos sete jogos do campeonato desde uma derrota por 4-2 em outubro de 2018.

O Sporting de Lisboa terá de se contentar com a ausência do médio português Daniel Bragança, que está afastado dos relvados desde Maio, altura em que se lesionou no ligamento cruzado anterior.

Ele é acompanhado na tabela de lesões dos Leos pelo atacante de 24 anos Jovane Cabral, que continua seu longo caminho para a plena forma física depois de sofrer uma lesão no pé em junho.

Edwards teve uma exibição da mais alta qualidade contra o Frankfurt na última partida, e o inglês, que possui seis participações de gols em seis jogos nesta temporada, será um dos destaques.

Enquanto isso, o Portimonense entrará em campo sem a dupla do meio-campo Carlinhos e Adewale Sapara, que estão afastados devido a lesões na coxa e nos músculos, respectivamente.

Anderson Oliveira saiu lesionado no meio do jogo contra o Paços de Ferreira, no dia 15 de agosto, e o brasileiro não participará da partida deste fim de semana.
