O jogo de Bangladesh será disputado depois que uma tentativa anterior de acertar os dois lados falhou, aparentemente devido à pandemia de Covid-19.

Em abril, a Federação de Futebol do Camboja (FFC) recusou um convite da Federação de Futebol de Bangladesh (BFF) para enviar uma equipe ao país do sul da Ásia para um amistoso internacional.

Bangladesh é o favorito para vencer a partida, com os visitantes vencendo o Camboja três vezes em quatro partidas no passado, incluindo uma vitória por 2 a 1 na Copa da Confederação Asiática de Futebol (AFC) Challenge Cup em 2006 e em alguns amistosos em 2009 e 2019.
